When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (for multi-factor authentication). If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. — we do not store credit card numbers or bank account details.
We collect information about how you use the Service, including carrier lookups performed, pages visited, features used, and session duration. This data helps us improve the platform and provide support.
If you use the CarrierMetric API, we log request metadata including timestamps, endpoints accessed, DOT numbers queried, response times, and IP address hashes (not raw IP addresses).

CarrierMetric aggregates publicly available data from FMCSA databases about motor carriers (companies), not individual persons. This data includes company names, DOT numbers, safety records, inspection history, and insurance filings — all of which are public records maintained by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as billing records).
Usage logs and API request logs are retained for 90 days for operational purposes and then automatically deleted.
